NEW PATIENTS
In New York State, Governor Pataki signed S.3169 which allows patients “Direct-Access” to physical therapy without a referral. Patients may come for up to 10 visits, or 30 days, whichever comes first. No-fault and Workers Compensation still require a referral. Some insurances will reimburse for Direct-Access while others will not. For now, it is considered self-pay by patient.
